Voting Question: can B misdemeanor stop me from being a police officer???any one?

l live in nyc .. l got busted with a gun in my house it was not loaded it was in a safe.. l was charge with unlawfull possesion of a weapon l was 21 years old now am 22. this happend a little more than year ago no jail time it was my first offence.and learn my lesson.. charge with a A misdemeanor.. now the DA drop it to a class B misdemeanor and 250$ fine.. can l still legally own a handgun? like in PA thank you l really need help with this.. the police had no search warrant they just came.. now my lawyer is fighting that to.. they came with out a warrant...
